A virtual santur (traditional instrument) was created for Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, and later shown at Tate Modern in London. The santur could be 'played' on a touchscreen monitor by users passing the cursor over the strings. The instrument was housed in a specially carved wooden case, with seating and a surrounding fence.
